Bridesmaid gift ideas

Being a bride should be one of the most exciting and fun times of your life. Yes, it can be stressful at times, however picking out gifts for the girls that have been by your side through thick and thin should be anything but stressful. However, in case you are in a bind and need some ideas or direction here are six ideas that are almost fool proof.

Bags/totes:

A good tote never goes out of style. Plus, it’s great to give to your girls so they can lug their stuff around the day of the wedding. Then afterwards they can use it for work, travel, school etc.

Robes:

Yes, this might be overdone. I did this one. However, this is overdone for a reason. I’ve seen where some girls do the cute button downs or some might do a tank top or t-shirt. However, regarding the button-down shirts, a lot of girls might not wear it again. When it comes to tank tops and t-shirts depending on the individual fit, they might not feel comfortable in them. Standing up in someone’s wedding is an honor, but it’s also a favor. Its expensive and time consuming and the last things you want is to make someone who is doing you a favor, uncomfortable. Robes are not only a cute photo opportunity, they are something these girls can wear over and over. Classic robes like your traditional floral kimono robe, or a waffle robe with a monogram are fun and versatile. If you buy a robe that specifically says “bridesmaid” or “maid of honor” on the back, its less likely they will wear it as much, if at all after the wedding. Its better too keep it more generic. If you want to customize it, you can embroider their name or monogram on it.

Jewelry:

There are some brides that purchase jewelry for their bridesmaids because they want them to wear it for the ceremony and reception. The kind of jewelry I’m talking about is the less fancy kind that they can wear outside the wedding. Examples of this are monogram necklaces, or bracelets. Initial necklaces, pendant necklaces, a classic Kate spade stud, So, on and so forth.

A jewelry holder/ jewelry box:

This is a practical gift that they will use as well. Whether it’s a stand or a jewelry box, it’s something most people need but don’t necessarily buy themselves.

Makeup brushes or cosmetic bag:

If you have a girl that isn’t into makeup, you might want to pass over the brushes. However, the cosmetic bag could also have multiple purposes. They could use it as a toilet tree bag while traveling, a pen/pencil bag, travel jewelry bag, and so much more. To make it extra special you could personalize it with a monogram or initial. I know you’re starting to see a trend. However, personalizing a gift, makes it’s a little more special. It shows you thought about it in advance and that you wanted to make it extra unique. Another option is an engraved glass. I received this as a gift when I was in my cousins wedding. I use it to put my makeup brushes in.

Flip flops:

I have yet to find a heel that I can not only stand for an hour or so in pictures, make it through a ceremony and dancing without feeling like my feet were run over by a semi-truck. A cute pair of sandals gives the girls something to slip into when they are ready to kick off their heels. Plus, unlike their bridesmaid dress, it really is something they can wear again.

A great place to look for bridesmaid gifts is Etsy. They have so many options at all price points. My advice is to pick a seller that has been doing it awhile and has high feedback. Also make sure you are planning these gifts out in advance. You should consider the fact that you are buying something that is made to order and needs to be shipped. Just an FYI, this isn’t a sponsored post. All the links, are just examples. Thanks again for stopping by and I will see you next time.
