The Basic Girls Guide To Fall

Before I was a stay at home mom, I used to work in medical. One day a new pharmaceutical rep came in and said that he wanted to bring us Starbucks. He took orders and when I asked for a pumpkin spice late, he called me “basic”. At the time I didn’t know what it meant. After looking it up on Urban dictionary, I learned its rather insulting. However, if enjoying a PSL during fall while wearing a plaid shirt makes me basic, fine bring it on. Hence the title of this post. So, without further ado, lets get started.

Oversized sweaters

This grey sweater is actually from Amazon and comes in other colors as well. I paired it with black jeans from Old Navy and these Sole Society booties.

This green cardigan was from the Nordstrom anniversary sale. I paired it with a white cami (currently sold out-click here for alternative) and olive booties from Target.

Stripes/color block

Here are two different ways to wear black and white stripes. The first sweater is from shein. I paired it with American Eagle jeans and black mules. For the second look I picked this oversized white and black striped cardigan. I paired it with a black BP camisole(currently sold out-click here for alternative) and dark jeans with this belt.  For shoes I chose these black Sole Society booties again.

Both these sweater come from Reddress Boutique and are currently sold out. However, if you click on the links provided you can enter your email and they will let you know when they get restocked. The first sweater reminds me of neapolitan ice cream. I paired it with dark jeans and these booties. The second sweater I’ve been wanting since Reddress previewed it on instagram months ago! I love rainbow print lately. I paired it with dark jeans and the olive booties from target.

Pullovers

Here are two different options. The first one is from Reddress and comes in multiple colors. The pink pullover is from Amazon and also comes in green and beige. Just on a side note this Amazon pullover is advertised as fleece. Its definitely not fleece. Its not a bad material, however I just wanted to let you know that incase you are considering ordering it.

Plaid

Obviously you can not have a “basic” fall look book without plaid. The yellow top was purchased from the Nordstrom anniversary sale. I paired it with jeans and some older DSW black booties. The second top is from Reddress (shocker I know). I paired it with some older DSW tall boots. However when the weather gets even cooler as it always does here in Michigan, I will add tights or leggings underneath.

Thanks again for stopping by. I am sure I will do more of these look books seeing that fall is my favorite time of year…I mean after all I am just a Basic B!@$&…
